History about the farm

The Ferme des Mouches an old monastery dating from the early XVIII century was the final residence of the famous tenor Georges Imbart de Latour.
Leading tenor at the « La Monnaie », in Bruxelles.
Head tenor in 1902 at the "Opéra Comique".
Professor of singing at the "Conservatoire de Paris".
He was renowned for his roles in « Carmen » (role of Don José) and in « Lakmé »(role of Gérald)

Today, the Ferme des Mouches is in full exploitation and opens its doors to "Rural Tourism on the farm". The ancient buildings in the old days, reserved for the farm labourers have been completely renovated to become welcoming very comfortable gites (holiday homes) situated in the heart of the Ardennes in exceptional surroundings.

It is said that during the war 1914 till 1918, The Germans came to steal food from the farm and were attacked and pushed back to retreat by the MOUCHES DE MIEL
(Honey Bees).

At that time the farm labours whom were devoted to Georges Imbart de Latour produced Honey a truly precious nectar from the region.
